What sort of assets can I use to make a gift?
Almost anything: cash, publicly traded securities, part of the balance in your retirement account
and a life insurance policy. We ask that if you'd like to give assets in other areas, such as real
estate, closely held stock and artwork/collectibles, you notify the YMCA of your intentions
beforehand so that we may review the items before we can accept them as gifts.
I am unable to make a current gift, but I would still like to support the YMCA. What can I do?
If you wish to support our mission, you can plan now for a future
gift through a bequest under your will. We would be pleased to
provide suggested language to you or
your attorney to ensure you can create your legacy.
Can I direct how the YMCA will use my gift?
Yes. Some donors direct their gift. Please be sure to discuss this with
us when you plan your gift. Consider leaving part or all
of your gift with no restrictions to enable us to meet needs that
we cannot anticipate at the present time.
Can I create an income stream for myself with my gift?
Yes! The YMCA offers several options that can pay you income. That income
can increase cash flow now and/or during retirement, provide income
for aging parents, or perhaps assist a loved one with special needs.
How will the YMCA recognize my gift?
When you make a planned gift, you will become a member of The President's Club.
We will honor requests for anonymity.
